Put-in-Bay News July 2017 What Did You Miss?

BIRTHS Isla Sara McGrath- Congratulations to Derek and Alison (Duff) McGrath on the birth of an 8 lbs, 11.5 oz, 21-inch daughter, Isla Sara, on May 6th. She joins sisters Lydia and Cora at the family home. Alison is the daughter of Put-in-Bay Island resident Allen Duff, and Catawba residents Melanie and Tom Anslow.

NOMINATED Peter Huston-Congratulations to Put-in-Bay Resident Peter Huston and his company “FilmAffects” who were recently nominated for an Emmy for his production of “Trail Magic, the Grandma Gatewood Story,” a documentary film based on the journals of Emma Gatewood, who,in her seventies and alone, was the first woman to hike the 2,168-mile Appalachian Trail in one season two different years. The Ida Rupp Erie Islands Library invites you to join Peter Huston for a special presentation of “Trail Magic” July 18th, 7 p.m. at The Ohio State University Aquatic Visitor Center presentation room at Stone Lab.

ANNIVERSARY Put-in-Bay News Reports Berni & Donna Steinbach will be celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary on July 6th. Berni takes care of the Boardwalk’s watercraft. Donna works at the Lobster Trap at the Boardwalk and for Miller Boat Line as a greeter at the Lime Kiln.

Ray & Laura Fogg Many happy returns to Put-in-Bay entertainer and Reel Bar owner Ray and Laura Fogg who celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary on June 22nd. The couple celebrated before the season with a trip to Italy.

RETIRING Dan Skoufos will be retiring from the maintenance department at Perry Victory and International Peace Memorial at the end of July. He says that’s his birthday present to himself. He turns 60 on July 6th. There will be a retirement party for Dan on July 31st at the Monument maintenance center. Time to be announced.
