Perry Victory & International Peace Memorial Park Rangers will demonstrate firing Historic Firearms and the Park’s carronade throughout the day. Park Ranger programs will cover the 1812 military uniform, how to properly handle black powder and fire a musket. The Parks Gun Crew will fire the carronade which is a short-barrel gun used in the battle of Lake Erie. This short Range gun will be part of a discussion on how to use and its limitations in the battle.
The firearms demonstrations will take place at 11:00 am. and 3 & 5 pm. The Carronade firings will be at 12:00 pm 2 & 4 pm. Junior Rangers are invited to “Join the Army” in a program at 1:00 pm.
