A weekend-long celebration of the 234th Anniversary of Oliver Hazard Perry’s birthday on August 23, 1785, and the 200th Anniversary of his death at 34 on August 23, 1819.  A reenactment of the Hero of Lake Erie will take place as he discusses his life from the time he became a midshipman at age 13 to his victory over the British in the Battle of Lake Erie at age 28, an important moment in Put-in-Bay History.

Historic Firearms demonstrations will take place at 11 am 3, and 5 pm. Carronade demonstrations will be given at noon, 2, and 4 pm.

At 1 pm a Junior Ranger program: “Join Perry’s Navy” will be given. All programs and events will be held at the Perry Victory and International Peace Memorial
