Put-in-Bay Green Week

Put-in-Bay Ohio and Middle Bass Island celebrate the 4th annual Put-in-Bay Green Week promoting the preservation and protection of our island natural resources. The Lake Erie Island Nature & Wildlife Center Lake Erie Islands Conservancy and the Put-in-Bay Township Park District have collaborated to produce a week of Agritourism, Adventure Travel, and Ecotourism geared to all age ranges.
Events at the Island Green Week include an Island Poker Kayak Day, A dawn walk at the Massie Cliffside Preserve, Tours of the South Bass Island Lighthouse, Monarch butterfly tagging, An Eco Tour of Coopers Woods and a 1912 Historic Island Home. Green week attendees will explore Put-in-Bay History with a tour of Gibraltar Island follow by a Pig Roast and Raffle.
Put-in-Bay Green week will also feature a nighttime stargazing Tour narrated by an astronomer detailing the night sky, stars, and planets. The Historic Put-in-Bay Fish Hatchery will feature a display with live fish native to Lake Erie. Children 16 and under will be able to fish from the pier free.
Put-in-Bay Green week is a fun family-oriented event with something for everyone. Put-in-Bay Golf Carts are the best method of getting to and from the activities and various green spaces on the island. Reservations are suggested.
