One of Put-in-Bays' great attractions. The haters will say the tee boxes need help. The loyal fans will say you don't touch the Put-in-Bay Country Club ( Saunders Golf Course ), not even the branches dangling over the greens. They are the tightest fairways you'll ever play, guaranteed.

I played a scramble at Saunders Golf Course once but didn't make it through 6six holes. We were having so much pleasure (every beer deducts a swing) we ended up to lit to play the last three holes!

We took a daytime expedition to visit this Put-in-Bay for the first time. We docked and rented a golf cart for about an hour and a half to play golf at Saunders Golf Course, and then we decided to turn it in and walk. There are many touristy things to do, but if you are looking for tranquility and peace, you can find some areas where that can happen as well. It is secure to say there is probably something for everyone to enjoy here.

Came with hubby and young adult family. We stayed Sun-Tues. It was perfect. Great weather, There golf course located near the park. I enjoyed Saunders Golf Course. Fun, no stress, a place to play. There were some crowds on Sunday at bars and restaurants, but the remainder of the visit was toned down and families. Loved the golf cart transportation, and extremely easy to get around Island. Definitely will return.

If you love the scent of grapes maturing and fall colors, this is the place to visit! The weather is still lovely because they are on the lake, and the water temperature permits them to stay warmer than on the mainland. We rented a golf cart to get about to play a round of golf at Saunders Golf Course and see the panoramas and sights from the Lake Erie shoreline. We stayed at The Put-in-Bay Resort and had an immaculate room and accommodating pleasant staff. We have stayed at other places in the past and will return to the Put-in-Bay Resort from now on!! Heineman's Winery is also a great place to enjoy a bottle of island wine.

Took the Jet Express across to Put-In-Bay, South Bass Island, on Labor Day Weekend. The Jet Express ferry boat was very pleasant. The ride over was so enjoyable, with the breeze in our hair and the beautiful view around us. The company that runs Jet Express does a fine job. The boat is exceptionally well kept, has pleasant kids operating the lines, and is SO timely on the arrival & departure times once over on South. Bass Island, Put-In-Bay, we leased a golf cart and went all over the Island, which was about 1.5 hrs. Everything is right there. We completed a few visits to each of the beaches to have a look. We had a blast riding around on the carts. Played a round of golf at the Saunders Golf Course. After checking out the Island, we decided to have lunch on the "Boardwalk" and did a little shopping. Unfortunately, we had to leave around 3:00 to return home for the career week. We want to go back to the Island & visit one of the Put-In-Bay hotels. We would love to check out more eateries & saloons in the night. Looks like a fun place!

We rode the Ferry over from Catawba Island. Everyone told us not to bring a car to the Island, and we now understand why. Millers Ferry was $7 per individual one way, and if you took an auto, add $16 per way on top of that. Once you are on the Island, you can lease a golf buggy, as we did, or catch a shuttle bus downtown. Saunders Golf Course was a fun stop and very cheap to play a round of golf. The bus is only $2.50 per individual, but they had yet to start running when we got there at around 8 am, so we rented a golf cart. There was plenty of opportunity to tool about the village, visit a few places, and hike through the woods. Downtown was quaint and inviting, with many shops and eating/drinking places. We didn't see a place to swim, but they did have a marina. There are many beautiful homes on the Island also.

This was a late summer, last-minute journey. We brought Millers Ferry to and from the Island. We appreciated the ferry ride, and Millers Ferry does a terrific job taking residents to and from the Island. We had planned to visit on a weekday, but the climate didn't collaborate, so we went on a Saturday. BIG MISTAKE! If you want a golf cart on the weekend, you must reserve it beforehand. We used Put-in-Bay Golf Carts. Best rates and nicest golf cart rentals. Otherwise, the chances are excellent; you won't get one. We took a taxi into town and took the trolley tour, a perfect way to see and discover the Island. We realized that golf carts are mostly PARKED, as most are there to drink and party. The main attraction is hanging out at the bars. We found quite a bit of kid-friendly activities and points of interest. Perry's monument was closed, but we did enjoy the museum and the grounds. Saunders Golf Course is a cool nine-hole course. DeRivera Park has beautiful playground equipment, bathroom facilities, storage lockers, and picnic tables. This is where our grandson spent several hours recreating and where families seemed to be spending lots of time.

We've been going to Put-in-Bay every year for 12 years! Read the studies and monitor the climate. An extremely lovely relaxed island with much going on. Take the Jet Express Ferry and investigate all there is to accomplish. The Jet Express delivers more time on the Island and comes in right downtown. There's something for everyone! It's amusing to bring a putter and seven iron and play a round of golf at Saunders Golf Course. Hotels are high for the season, and many individuals arrive for the summer. There is a minimum two-night stay on weekends. Accommodations are more affordable from Sunday through Thursday. The food is excellent, and the restaurants have great critiques. A golf cart rental makes the trip enjoyable. The main playground in the downtown area is well-maintained. We can't wait to go back and revisit the Lonz Winery and Kelley's Island! I would love to check out St. Hazard's Resort, too!

saunders resort golf course is a concealed gem we uncovered several years ago and just returned to after 15 years, and it still does not disappoint! Such a fantastic location to take the kids or just as a couple. You can rent a golf cart or bike all over the Island. There are countless small gift shops and a gigantic marina. Many eateries, two wineries, two caves, and a wonderful state park!
