Mary Ann S.

Parked the Car in the Jet Express lot in Port Clinton and purchased round-trip tickets for the ferry. (Showing our shore value card that we got at the tourists center, we acquired $1 off each of the four tickets we bought) The passage over was amazing! We arrived on the island around 1 pm ( about a 22-minute ride). We reserved our golf cart in advance with Put-in-Bay Golf Carts online and are glad we did, as golf carts were sold out at all cart places. We ended up reserving the last available 6-person cart. Put-in-Bay Golf Carts were also the cheapest. We were here for two days, so we decided to try a few restaurants on Put-in-Bay. Of all the Put-in-Bay Restaurants, I would have to say our favorite was Mossbacks. They had a wide variety of food options; many other restaurants seemed to specialize in one or two types of food. put in bay restaurants are average prices compared to other tourist areas.

Randy J.

Driving the golf carts about the island was the most pleasing part of our day. Some fine pure fun, tooting horns at passing golf carts, High fiving other carts, our 17-year-old enjoyed joking with individuals that we passed, notifying them their shoes were untied, applauding people on their clothing, hats and shoes, harmless pleasing fun, and the individuals were enjoying just as much fun with him. My fellow travelers had so much fun with us, giggling and fooling around. Don't take your automobile. Rent the golf cart. You won't be sorry. People were there to have fun and let go. Everyone was having a fine time, and was pleasant. We noticed that the car would have been challenging to park in. There is minimal parking for automobiles. It is all golf cart parking. We visited Perry's Monument first thing. Incredible panoramic vistas and the rangers gave us a short recap of Perry's battle... exciting. We then went to Perry's Cave, which is very steep. Some steps are only broad enough for your shoe sideways, not for anyone with a walking disability. The cave was tiny, a little disappointing if compared to the Caves/caverns in West Virginia; however, our two teens only recollect those caves from photos, so it was still enjoyable for them. A small antique automobile museum right next to the cave was excellent. We then had some lunch at the Boardwalk, ate on the top deck, and had tacos and nachos; Salsa was a refreshing change from what we usually get—nice View of Lake Erie. There were many Put-in-Bay Restaurants to choose from, and in fact, there were at least four where we ate. It was like a food court at a mall with lots of options for restaurants.

Bryan G.

We visited Put-in-Bay to see some of the museums we had read about. They generally close at 5 pm., so if you want to call them, get an early start. We went to Adventure Bay Fun Center. It was a very happening place! We went shopping in town, then just moved around in the golf cart rental, just having a great time. Our two boys ( both teens) wanted to return just for the fun we had on the golf cart. We noticed numerous bridal shower parties and bachelor groups. Lots of pubs, but we were there early. It could be a fun place at night. The Restaurants at Put-in-Bay were reasonably priced, considering they had to ship all the food and drinks over on the ferry. We ate at two restaurants, the Goat Soup And Whiskey, and lunch at Lesters Taco Shop. Both were very good!

Nick T.

Beautiful scenery, great restaurants, and a variety of things to do! As a daytime trip to South Bass Island is relatively costly for a family, we decided to spend a few nights on the Island. There is too much to see and do at Put-in-Bay for just one day trip. There is the cost of the ferry and transportation once you are on the Island. We took the Jet Express Ferry, which puts you on the Island right near the downtown area. I will ride the Jet Express next time as well, which is a little more pricey but does let you off nearer to the downtown site. We simply love the restaurants in put in bay ohio

Oliver T.

Buses were available at the dock when we arrived at Put-in-Bay, but we were not sure how much we could catch from them, so we decided to rent golf carts. It was $70 for a 6-person cart all day. Even though this was more costly, it was a better option because several people couldn't walk far. We rented from Put-in-Bay Golf Carts online before we arrived. There were many great restaurants to select from on the Island, and everyone raved about their meals at the Boathouse Bar & Grill.

Jennifer G.

It was pretty chilly and breezy on the day of our stay, so we didn't get to take advantage of everything that the Island had to present. There are caves, shopping, several historical sites, and just enough touristy items your kids are dying to do! I would love to return on a warm summer's day and enjoy all this Island has to offer. The high point of our trip was a delicious dinner at the Upper Deck. It has become our newest go-to spot. One of the best views of the Put-in-Bay Restaurants.

Sammy T.

Our vacation started with a wonderful ferry ride on the Jet Express to a small island full of various attractions, shopping, pubs, and restaurants. We planned our day and leased our little golf cart from Delaware Carts. Our first visit was to Tippers for some amazing Walleyes bites and adult beverages. We saw several other appealing restaurants all over the area. We had rain ponchos, but we were not prepared for that 20-degree temperature reduction.

Logan C.

It's a pleasant ferry ride and many things to do at Put-in-Bay. I was there over Labor Day weekend with my kids. My wife and I have been there twice on the weekend, as mentioned earlier, and were treated to several delicious meals at local restaurants. No, we are not going to try for the tri-vector! When we go back, it will be in the middle of the week in a different month. Perry's Monument, the winery, and bicycling around the Island were fun. The caves could have been better. If you like shopping, they do have some impressive stores. Put-in-Bay Restaurants are, for the most part, all delicious. We think Lesters Taco Shop is one of the best restaurants on put-in-bay. Many college youths love the Island, which is fine, but be aware that it can get wild sometimes. An excellent place to check out, especially if you know someone that owns a house.
