The Put-in-Bay EMS has partnered with St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center of Toledo to provide a full-time Paramedic on the island of South Bass throughout the year, with support and training for the volunteer staff led by EMS Managers. During the busy summer months, additional part-time staff are hired to cover the significant increase in call volume. Put-in-Bay Township and St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center provide four ambulances, three on Put-in-Bay, South Bass Island, and one on Middle Bass Island, all fully equipped with the most modern Advanced Life Support equipment and medications.
