The Fish Shack Particulars

The Fish Shack is located on the main deck of the Boardwalk restaurant Complex. With delicious bites and a casual atmosphere, it’s ideal for families and couples seeking a quick meal before heading out for a Lake Erie Island adventure.

The hand-breaded Walleye & Perch take center stage at the Fish Shack and come out of the fryer nice and crisp with your chosen sides. Try a classic Perch sandwich or opt for the larger basket complete with tartar sauce and a side of onion rings or french fries.

Round out your selection with a cold beer one from one of the two bars nearby in the complex.

The view is amazing! Soak in the lake breezes and enjoy the locally caught fresh fish at the same time. You will really appreciate Lake Erie for her gift of these delicious fish! The friendly, relaxed Boardwalk is known as a favorite meeting place for locals. Tourists love it for the many dining options within the complex.

The Boardwalk Restaurant

The Boardwalk is divided into two sections, the Upper and Main Deck known as Books Seafood. Both feature a wonderful, open atmosphere. The Upper Deck Restaurant is known for some of the island’s best views while dining.

The Main Deck Bar

There are two bars near the Fish Shak. The Burgee Bar serves up their famous Riptide Rum Punch along with other handcrafted frozen cocktails. Beer is available off the Tap or in bottles. Live music is featured on weekends during the summer season. Be sure to check out the Put-in-Bay Entertainment Schedule for details.

Crawdaddy’s Bar is the perfect location for a craft cocktail and hs the complexes only smoking section. A small charming bar welcomes tourists with an extensive wine and beer menu.

The Little Galley serves up more casual fare and is always a hit with kids! Family favorites from Black Angus Burgers hotdog to white meat Chicken Strips and French Fries!

Completing the Main Deck dining options is Book’s Seafood, which serves up truly gourmet fare at affordable prices. Enjoy into heaping plates of Alaskan King Crab, Live Maine Lobster, Key West Shrimp piled high and fresh Mussels from New Zealand.

One thing we must stress DO NOT MISS THE LOBSTER BISQUE!!! Made from scratch with fresh live main lobster, they’ve served over 1 million bowls to happy customers who return year after year for this scrumptious delight. You can get a cup or a larger serving that comes in a fresh bread pot.

The Upper Deck

In 2007 a massive construction project was completed adding a second level to the Boardwalk Restaurant Complex and is now known as the Upper Deck.

The stunning view, great menu, and tableside service make it as close to fine dining as you can get at Put-in-Bay. The 180-degree panoramic views of Lake Erie are second to none. Each menu dish is prepared fresh to order. From burgers to pasta and of course, the aforementioned lobster bisque, the Upper Deck Menu is sure to satisfy from a steak to ocean prime fish.

The bar features an extensive beer and wine list as well as their large martini menu. Just outside Rita’s Cantina is home to the island’s most extensive and delicious tequila list. Hand Crafted premium margaritas or just sip a shot of fine Patrón watching the sun go down over Lake Erie and the Put-in-Bay Harbor.

Fish Shack Location Appeals To All

With so many other food options in the same location, the Fish Shack is an easy choice for families where there may be several different food preferences. Choices include the Little Galley, Book’s Seafood, Rita’s Cantina, and the upscale Upper Deck. Known for its amazing Lobster Bisque, the Upper Deck features friendly tableside service and an impressive martini list. Wine and beer are also available.

While you enjoy the Perch and Walleye dishes from the Fish Shak, take in the surrounding sites. The two smaller islands Gibraltar and Middle Bass Island are viewable from the deck of The Boardwalk. Gibraltar was named for the Rock of Gibraltar, was Commodore Perry’s lookout point during the War of 1812. Currently, it is home to Ohio State University’s freshwater research facility. The location is near most major Put-in-Bay Hotels & Resorts and has ample Put-in-Bay Golf Cart parking.

This Fish Shack restaurant is fantastic and a must-visit when on the island! The food is delicious; combined with friendly and attentive staff and gorgeous views of the water; hands down our favorite place to eat on Put-in-Bay

Stopped for a drink and appetizers at the Fish Shack. The cocktails were unique and very interesting. Basil mojito was the bomb. Had dinner of appetizers. They were very good. Would recommend it to anyone.

Probably the best restaurant on Put-in-Bay. My wife and I each had a bowl of lobster bisque and shared a shrimp basket. The lobster bisque is their specialty and is great, the rest was good. The bonus is the location and the views!

I loved my Walleye dinner at the Fish Shack, it was cooked perfectly. Being there Labor day weekend the restaurant was a madhouse. Our server took her time and made sure we had a good time. The Boardwalk is the only place I eat at when I go to Put in Bay.

We wanted seafood while visiting Put In Bay so we went to see what kind of restaurants were at the Boardwalk which has three levels with bars and restaurants. We decided on the Fish Shack right in the front on the main floor of the Boardwalk. Prices seemed high but when we received our food it was a huge portion. I had Had the Fish Shack shrimp basket which was 9 huge battered deep-fried shrimp with excellent fries and coleslaw for $19.99 and my husband had 2 perch taco platter that also came with fries for $17.99.

They put something spice wise on their fries looks like maybe paprika or cayenne pepper for a slight taste, it made it a different approach to fries you never had.
The food taste was amazing and I couldn’t even eat it all as the plate was huge and it was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the Fish Shack this place but make sure you are super hungry so you can eat the portion you order.

There is also a cute crab standing upright next to this small restaurant your little ones can get their picture was taken by, which makes a cute shot.
We then took our food to a table by the water so we had a breeze and were able to watch the boats and parasailers.
ENJOY !!!!!!!

My wife and I sat in the dining room area. Really neat memorabilia and cool things hung from the ceiling. We got a Fish Shack platter with sides for 2 and split the dinner. Was plenty for both of us!

The restaurant was recommended by the Put-in-Bay Resort as a quality dining experience. We were impressed with the atmosphere, service, and food. The dining on the patio was very pleasant with clear cool weather. And the food, WOW I had the fresh perch and he had the Walleye!
