The Fish Shack

The Fish Shack At The Boardwalk Restaurant Complex

The Fish Shack Particulars

The Fish Shack is located on the main deck of the Boardwalk restaurant Complex. With delicious bites and a casual atmosphere, it’s ideal for families and couples seeking a quick meal before heading out for a Lake Erie Island adventure.

The hand-breaded Walleye & Perch take center stage at the Fish Shack and come out of the fryer nice and crisp with your chosen sides. They offer these Lake Erie specialties as a platter or a smaller serving in a sandwich. Shrimp Po’Boys, platters, and some of the best onion rings you’ll ever have come from the Fish Shack. Try a classic Perch sandwich or opt for that larger basket complete with tartar sauce and a side of french fries. Round out your selection with a cold beer from one of the two bars nearby in the complex.

The view is fantastic! You can dine outside in the open air or undercover both with breathtaking views of the Lake Erie waterfront. Soak in the lake breezes and enjoy the locally caught fresh fish simultaneously. You will really appreciate Lake Erie for her gift of these delicious fish! The friendly, relaxed Boardwalk is known as a favorite meeting place for locals. Tourists love it for the many dining options within the complex.

The Boardwalk Restaurant Complex

The Boardwalk is divided into two sections, the Upper and Main Deck known as Books Seafood. Both feature a wonderful, open atmosphere. The Upper Deck Restaurant is known for some of the island’s best views while upscale dining.

The Main Deck Bar-There are two bars near the Fish Shak. The Burgee Bar serves up their famous Riptide Rum Punch along with other handcrafted frozen cocktails. Beer is available off the Tap or in bottles. Live music is featured on weekends during the summer season. Be sure to check out the Put-in-Bay Entertainment Schedule for details.

Crawdaddy’s Bar- the perfect location for a craft cocktail and has the complex’s only smoking section. A small charming bar welcomes tourists with an extensive wine and beer menu.

The Little Galley serves up a more casual fare and is always a hit with kids! Family favorites from Black Angus Burgers hotdog to white meat Chicken Strips and French Fries!

Book’s Seafood  Completes the Main Deck dining options, which serve up truly gourmet fare at affordable prices. Enjoy heaping plates of Alaskan King Crab, Live Maine Lobster, Key West Shrimp piled high and fresh Mussels from New Zealand.

One thing we must stress is DO NOT MISS THE LOBSTER BISQUE!!! Made from scratch with fresh live main lobster, they’ve served over 1 million bowls to happy customers who return year after year for this scrumptious delight. You can get a cup or a larger serving that comes in a fresh bread pot.

The Boardwalk has picnic tables to sit at to eat and enjoy the view of the lake & the boats. The Fish Shack at the Boardwalk is why I want to go to Put in Bay yearly!!!!! (which is a 3 & 1/2 to 4-hour trip for us) The the fish shack menu has the most giant fried clams you will ever get! Thick around as your thumb, and some were probably inches long!!! They are awesome!!! And they give you a big plate of them with French fries!!! My hubby likes the other food stands there. It has excellent burgers & fries!!! ( he is not a seafood eater.) Hint~ refill your drink for free and take it with you.

Stopped in to try the perch at the Fish Shack and noticed they had lobster bisque. I ordered one in a bread pot, and when it arrived, I was surprised it was so big. The lobster bisque was so fresh, and the roll was fresh too. I'll definitely be back. One of the best put-in-bay restaurants

The Fish Shack is located in a place where you have a variety of restaurants and bars, which is an entertainment place in itself. The food was awesome, and the portions were large. They have perch walleye hand breaded. It's not huge. It's very small and quaint. The Upper Deck Restaurant is great, the Cantina is excellent, and the drinks are delicious. Part of a whole network of fun at Put-In-Bay. The view is phenomenal!

The best place for food and views! The Boardwalk is known for its famous lobster bisque, and it is true - the bisque is fantastic, with lots of chunks of lobster. The Fish Shack is one of our go-to places each time we visit. YOu can tell the fish shack uses the freshest fish available! Sometimes prefer the Upper Deck restaurant to relax and cool down on a hot day. Our group found that all of their fresh seafood appetizers and main dishes were great. All you have to do is sit back and enjoy your meal!

I haven't been there at night, but it is really nice to chill and sit on the Boardwalk and have lunch at the Fish Shack and/or drinks. There are several places to choose to eat and common areas to sit so a party can select from different restaurants and all still sit together.

Good food, good service, and a great view-The Boardwalk is not really a boardwalk, but rather a collection of different restaurants all under one top on two levels. We opted for the Fish Shack since it was a beautiful afternoon, and the deck has impressive views of downtown and the harbor and Perry monument. Two of us had lobster bisque and lake erie perch walleye Sandwiches, their specialty. It was delicious, with a good amount of Perch. The fried fish shack shrimp we split four ways between us and also was very good and a large portion. The grilled salmon was good, as were the fries. Island Ice Tea was very well prepared. Service was quick and friendly. Prices are high, but that is true on most of the island. We plan on returning the next time we visit Put-in-Bay.
