Goat Soup Whiskey Where Fresh Is Defined!

The talented chefs at Goat Soup Whiskey have created a menu to please any palate. They take pride in every dish they serve, and it shows in their creative presentations. The three on-site gardens provide many fresh vegetables and herbs in their dishes.

Other herbs, vegetables, and fruits in their entrees and cocktails are fresh from local markets and farms, such as Bergmans Orchards on the mainland. There is no substitute for the difference fresh ingredients make in their flavorful entrees.

Fresh does not end with their gardens! it extends to their seafood which features Lake Erie Yellow Perch and Walleye, two of the finest freshwater-eating fish on the planet! Caught fresh daily from Lake Erie, the Perch is the prime ingredient in their popular Perch Tacos, favored by locals and tourists alike.

Hand-fileted Perch is lightly dusted with breading and fried, then served in a warm tortilla with their secret “pali wali” sauce and cabbage mixture. The Walleye is expertly prepared in several styles depending on your preference.

Equally as popular are their delicious secret recipe homemade soups. They rotate their soups daily, each using only the finest ingredients and slow-cooking methods. Be sure to ask your Goat Soup Whiskey server about the soup specials served by the cup or bowl. Definitely worth checking out!

Great service and food! I had the perch tacos. Fresh, flavorful. I asked what the sauce was but was told it’s a secret. Reuben Balls were also very good! We will be back!

The restaurant was recommended by our B&B as a quality dining experience. We were impressed with the atmosphere, service, and food. The dining on the patio was so pleased with the cool clear weather. And what great food! I chose two appetizers and half a House Salad, and my companion had the rib eye steak served with seasonal vegetables. Fresh bread and dipping oil with balsamic was served as we waited for our meals – very tasty.

My half-salad was a generous serving of beautiful colorful mixed greens. The oysters Rockefeller were served piping hot and absolutely delicious; the stuffed mushroom caps (Italian sausage) baked with cheese and flavorful marinara were also hot out of the oven and tasty. The steak was perfectly cooked, and the freshly cooked vegetable mix still had a body and not overcooked. We’re already talking about another island visit and plan to make this place a part of the experience.

My friend and I had the fish tacos and they were great! Only ordered one and It had 2 big pieces of fish on it. The drink I had was called lime in the coconut and was yummy! We ate out on the covered patio and had a really nice vibe to it.

We just returned from a visit to Put-in-Bay and we were pleasantly surprised to try this quality gourmet restaurant for dinner. We each had one of the walleye meals and found them to be superb. We tried it based on other reviews and were not disappointed. If you plan on eating here on a weekend reservations are a must. We had about a half-hour wait on a Tuesday, without reservations. However, definitely worth the wait!

My wife and I sat in the dining room area. Really neat animals and goat and cool things hung from the ceiling. We got a chef’s platter with meats and cheeses for 2 and split two of the perch tacos loaded and were amazing! She got a Moscow mule and the drink was awesome service fast and nice very very very good.
