Memorial Weekend

At Put-in-Bay, the Memorial Day three-day weekend has grown to be one of the busiest and most popular weekends of the year. Marking many families end of the school year and start of summer vacations, Put-in-Bay’s most popular entertainers return to the island to perform Memorial Day weekend, many with multiple shows! Active Duty service members and Veterans will receive discounts on the Put-in-Bay Ferry (Free passage on both ferries on Monday only) and many Put-in-Bay Merchants.

Memorial Day Weekend Events

On May 26th, 27th & 28th Tourists will enjoy demonstrations such as Historic Firearms and the Park’s Carronade throughout the day by Park Rangers & Volunteers.  Ranger programs will cover the nuances of the 1812 military uniform, the proper handling of black powder, and the steps to firing a musket. Historic Firearms demonstrations will take place at  11:00 am 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm.

Carronade demonstrations will be given at Noon, 2:00 pm, and 4:00 pm.

There will be a 1:00p m Junior Ranger program “Join the Army”

Memorial Day Weekend Services

Memorial Day Services will be held on May 29th in the lower plaza of the Perry Victory and International Peace Memorial at 11:00 am to honor our Veterans past and present at Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial visitors center plaza Both Sunday and Monday feature an antique car parade started years ago by island legend Skip Duggan. The car parade generally starts around 2:30 pm and, at times features over 100 antique and classic cars. A big hit with the kids is the candy truck at the end tossing a treat to the children.

The Put-in-Bay Resorts award-winning pool and swim-up bar the Blue Marlin will be the daily hot spot serving up great music, fun times, and awesome food and drinks. The Blue Marlin Bar & Grill offers an eclectic selection of beers and homemade food items. Other nearby locations include the Old Forge and The Reel Bar.
