The Jet Express ferry began its Service in 1989 from Port Clinton, Ohio traveling to Downtown Put-in-Bay. It became known for its reliable, high-speed, and late night service to this lively island. Today, the Jet Express Ferry Service has grown to 4 Jet Express Ferries from the Ports of Port Clinton, Sandusky, and Lorain, servicing the Islands of Put-in-Bay (South Bass Island) and Kelley’s Island off the north shore of Ohio in Lake Erie. The Jet Express offers the most modern fleet servicing the island and ar the United States Coast Guard Approved.

Fly yourself into Put-in-Bay
For those who like to fly, Put-in-Bay Airport (FAA LID: 3W2) is a public airport located in Put-in-Bay on South Bass Island. The approach to Runway 21 is complicated by Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial which is almost exactly in line with the runway so please be advised. The airport is located in the center of the southern half of the island and offers 2 runways. Taxi service is available. Put-in-Bay’s airport is open year round for arrivals and departures from dawn to dusk. Runways at the Put-in-Bay airport are modern and paved but not lighted so there are no departures after dusk.
