South Bass Island State Park offers camping and has a lovely park right on Lake Erie. A pebble stone beach can be found for swimming in the lake as well as a public use boat launch. Put-in-Bay Watercraft Rentals rents Jet Skis, small boats, and other water-related toys.
A shelter house and picnic areas are available for rent, as well as cabins and a spacious campground. Cottages provide an extra bit of comfort and are full of rustic charm. They are available with a three-night minimum stay from Memorial Day until mid-September. Saunders Golf Course is right across the street. This nine-hole par 3 (with one par 4) s challenging and really fun to play. The course is one of the few places golf carts aren’t allowed! You can play a competitive game of golf before heading to Joe’s Bar!
The Lake Erie Wildlife Museum is a short walk up Catawba. A recent addition to the sprawling complex makes it unique to Put-in-Bay, Perry’s Cave is one of the popular Put-in-Bay Attractions and features a limestone cave with an underground lake. You can take the cave tour then head over for a game of mini-golf, gemstone mining, or a stint in the Butterfly House. And of course, a drink at Joe’s Bar to end the day just seems perfect.
