Upcoming August 2019 Events

August 2019 Events At Middle Bass Island Yacht Club

August 2019 Events – The MBIYC and BSC are having a Schützenfest on Saturday, August 3rd, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Middle Bass Island Yacht Club. A Schützenfest (German: marksmen’s festival) is a traditional festival or fair featuring a target shooting competition in the cultures of both Germany and Switzerland. There will also be traditional German dancing and food.

At a Schützenfest, contestants compete based on their shooting abilities (in our case, Airsoft guns), for example, by shooting at a wooden representation of an eagle. The competition’s winner becomes the Schützenkönig (“king of marksmen”) until the following year’s competition. The Current King is Jim Osenbaugh! Can you dethrone him?

Fundraiser On Saturday, August 3rd, the Middle Bass Island Volunteer Fire Department (MBIVFD) will hold its fundraiser, “Old School Fire Department Extravaganza,” starting at 6 p.m. on the Lonz patio.
