Put-in-Bay Village Boat Docks opened to boaters June 21st- On Saturday, June 21st, after delay after delay, a portion of the Village’s Boat Docks were opened to the boating public. The outside wall facing Fox’s Dock (aka Jet Dock) immediately filled with boaters anxious to enjoy the perfect early-summer day. A portion of C-Dock inside the outer sheet piling dock was also made available to boaters.
The rest of the dock remained as a construction zone as workers continued to put in the floating docks which will now come off C-Dock and project into the water toward the DeRivera Park Dock. Although multiple problems have delayed the scheduled completion of the project, there is only one thing to say and that’s simply, “The boaters are going to love it when they dock at the Village’s newly renovated boat docks.”
The Put-in-Bay Village docks will now offer some of the best boat docks available to boaters in the Great Lakes. Problems which plagued boaters docking at the public docks in the past have been eliminated completely. There’s now plenty of electricity and water,
solid uprights, a beautiful new deck, plus added protection from storms for those docking inside the facility. It truly is a great upgrade from what was previously there, and it should offer first class dockage for years to come. Initial responses from the Put-in-Bay Boating crowd have been very favorable. With the docks added capacity, we should expect to see Put-in-Bay Dock revenues to increase as well.
For updates about the Village’s public docks, there is a Facebook page on the Internet. It is “Put-in-Bay Village Docks, A&C.”
Put-in-Bay Village Docks are open to all boaters on a first come, first served basis. Reservations are not taken.
