Put-in-Bay Garden Club April 2011 News & Info
Flowers for the Put-in-Bay Garden Club DeRivera Park lamppost baskets are being nurtured in a local nursery to ensure they will be even more beautiful in the 2011 baskets surrounding our downtown park. We’ve ordered the required miracle grow soil and are taking names of those who want to help us plant the baskets this spring.
Plans are to paint the outside blue area of the DeRivera Park Fountain a neutral color and decorate the inside area with exotic plants. Your donations to this effort will help make this beautification project happen. All money received by June 1, 2011, will have the donor’s name listed on a thank you board. Keep in mind $150 sponsors a full lamp basket, but any amount is gratefully appreciated by the Put-in-Bay Garden Club. Remember also our 501(c) 3 status means your donations are tax-deductible. Waterers keep our project baskets alive throughout the summer by donating a few hours in the morning. Many Put-in-Bay businesses signed up for a week last summer and were supplemented by tireless volunteers. What a great way to give back to your community and meet new friends! Other perks for your time include a treat from the Village Bakery during your break the morning you are scheduled. Please consider becoming part of our watering team for a week or even just one day. Any help is appreciated.
In addition, the Put-in-Bay Garden Club could use four more volunteers to act as a coordinator or contact persons each month to set up a daily schedule.
