Senior News November 2018 Busy Calendar in November
November is a month full of family, friends, wonderful memories and Thanksgiving. This will be a planning month for all the Holiday festivities that go on here at the Senior Center in December. This month in Senior News November 2018 Most of our snowbirds are gone, but our attendance numbers remain good and everyone is looking forward to Put-in-Bay’s 2019 Season. Our calendar remains full of regularly scheduled activities which include: Aerobic
Dance, Strength Training, Coffee Socials, Yoga, Mah Jongg, Bridge, Duplicate Bridge, and our Senior Lunches. We also try to include a “Soup and Show’” night, Wii Bowling or similar activity at least once a month during the offseason.
Our Aquamotion classes are on hold until further notice as there is no pool for us to use at this time. Wednesday evening Men’s Cards is also over until next summer. Many activities are not planned far enough in advance to make this senior News November 2018 so keep an eye out for postings of these special events at the senior center, post office and on our website: pibseniorcenter.org.
During the month of October, the seniors enjoyed a fun “Cider Press Potluck” with wonderful homemade food and fabulous fresh pressed cider from all the island apples! A special shout out goes to Art Otermat and Bob and Dianne Smith for all their hard work in getting the press ready for use. Many thanks to all who collected apples, moved the press equipment into position and worked so hard for hours pressing apples into cider. I also want to thank everyone who washed and trimmed apples to ready them for use in the press. It takes a lot of time and work to put on this event!
Fall Barn Social
Our “Fall Barn Social” was also a great success! A special shout out goes to Dave Gundlach for opening his barn for all of us to enjoy this time together! Finally, we had fun passing out yummy treats on Halloween to all the island Trick or Treaters!
Senior Lunches in November
Our Senior Lunches are served at 12 noon every Thursday at Tipper’s. Please make your reservation by noon on Wednesday either by signing up at the Senior Center or calling the center at (419) 285-5501. This is important as we must let Tipper’s kitchen know the lunch count by noon Wednesday so they can plan accordingly for these delicious and fun senior lunches!

you’d like to take advantage of this wonderful program, please call 419-734-6800 to make your appointment.
If anyone can save the little “tabs” used to open the top of pop/soda cans, we are collecting them for the Ronald McDonald House in
Cleveland, Ohio. Please feel free to drop them off at the Senior Center.
We are honored to host the Legion Lunches every 3rd Thursday of the month. We are looking for people who are willing to volunteer to help serve the lunch, make dessert and/or clean up afterword. Please help us support our veterans. Thank you….. As usual, I cannot thank enough all the people who willingly volunteer their time and help with so many tasks here at the Senior Center. You know who you are… Thank-you soooo much!!! My wish is for everyone to enjoy this month of Thanksgiving and take time to give thanks for all the people and moments in our lives that mean so much to us. That’s all for Senior News November 2018
