Put-in-Bay High School Alumni

110th annual  Put-in-Bay High School Alumni Association reunion held at the Put-in-Bay Conference Center. Guests mixed and mingled at a cocktail hour with appetizers and live music by the Island Band. During check-in, guests had an opportunity to donate to the Gustav Heineman, Jeffrey Verhoff, Rick Dysert, and Jeremy Harlan Memorial Scholarships and peruse the Treasurer’s report.

The High School Alumni Dinner was followed by a pig roast by Rob Hard, accompanied by homemade side dishes and desserts from Rudder’s Deli. Birthdays were announced and celebrated while High School Alumni guests answered alumni trivia questions at each table.

The graduating class of 2013, Wyatt Auger, Caleigh Blumensaadt, Mitchell Blumensaadt, Molly Domer, Jessica Farman, Karina Kowalski, and Shawn Seaberg, was recognized and admitted into the alumni association. Celebrating his 25th anniversary was Jay Faris, the lone grad from the class of 1988. Robert Kindt, Allen Tobin, and Mary Wulkowicz Robinson from the class of 1963 were the honored 50th anniversary High School Alumni graduates.

Several members of the Kindt attended this year’s reunion: Melvin Geithmann, Joan Kindt McCann, Audry Klopp Arters, Elizabeth Ann Parker Bruening, and William Woischke. Mary Ann DeVore Market and James Rudy, Jr. were there with their classmates in spirit.

A 50/50 raffle benefitted the winning attendee, Sue Duff, wife of Walter Duff, class of 1964, and the alumni association.
Numerous door prizes were also given away toward the end of the evening. A highlight of the reunion was Rudy Cooks’ historian
video. Many High School Alumni from several decades told stories and shared memories from their school days on the island.

The “Phantom Crusher” mystery was unraveled but not revealed…the evening concluded with more music from the Island Band while
high school alumni members said their goodbyes. Plan to attend next year’s annual reunion to welcome the class of 2014, celebrate
the honored 25 and 50-year graduates, and find out who the Phantom Crusher is!
