New staff at Put-in-Bay Library The Erie Islands Library (EIL) located at 281 Concord Avenue (inside the Put-in-Bay School)
has new staff beginning this month. We are delighted to welcome three new employees. Linda Rence has accepted the position of Branch Manager for Erie Island Library. You may know Linda as the French teacher and gifted specialist for the Put-in-Bay School. Linda’s enthusiasm for the island’s library will spark both adults and children to use the beautiful facility more often.

Karen Wilhelm, whom you may know as the 4th and 5th-grade teacher at Put-in-Bay School, will be assisting Linda in the library. She enjoys working with adults and children and wants to start a book discussion group on the island. Stop by to talk with her about her plans for the library.

Susan Byrnes, an expert in reader’s advisory and photography, is the third new addition to the Erie Islands Library staff. She hopes you will drop in to talk to her about books and movies. You might also come by to choose a new title from the Browsing Collection. New books and movies are available for check-out. Please also note the following new Saturday story times from 10-10:30 a.m. at the Erie Islands Library, January 8 and 22, February 12 and 26, and March 12 and 26.

The new Erie Island Library schedule, effective Jan. 1, 2011, is Monday, 10-1; Tuesday, 5-8;

The Erie Island Library is bidding a fond farewell to retiring Erie Island librarians Muriel Sneller and Barb Cooper. They have received many cards and letters during their career from students and patrons. A retirement party was held in their honor on December 21st, and they had many of these cards and letters present. We wish both of them the best in their retirement years.
