St Pauls Church Put-in-Bay Celebrates 200 Years Of Worship

St Pauls Church Put-in-Bay is celebrating the 200th Anniversary of the arrival of the Episcopal Church in Ohio. The Diocese is celebrating its 200th anniversary. The church is doing things in 200’s this year. St. Paul’s Church, located in downtown Put-in-Bay Ohio’s goal is to collect 200 cups of pull tabs (aka pop tops). These will be sent to support the Ronald McDonald House in Cleveland.

Look for collection containers around town or drop them off at the church. The parish is collecting 200 pairs of socks to go to a homeless shelter when the weather turns colder. The church is also collecting empty pill bottles which will be used at one of our overseas mission sites.

Casual Conversations-St. Pauls Church Put-in-Bay invites everyone to join us for some “casual conversations” on Tuesday afternoons at 2pm. This will be an opportunity to ask those questions you’ve wondered about or join a conversation someone else starts. Our springboard topic for May 6th is “Does God have a Big Toe?”

The question comes from the title of a book by Marc Gellman’s book which is a collection of stories using familiar Genesis texts. The second week we will move to “How many angels can dance on the head of a pin?” – a question with an infinite number of answers. Casual conversations is that – casual. There will not be any “homework.” You can drop in any week. This will be an opportunity to meet others on the island and explore our faith together.

St Pauls Church Put-in-Bay History– filled with amazing stories St. Paul’s continues to offer history tours on Tuesdays at 9 am or by appointment. The church history is tightly woven with Put-in-Bay’s history. It will add to the visit of anyone who has visited the community museum or ridden the tour train. Tours are possible almost any time, just call ahead for an appointment outside our regular Tuesday tour.
