I’d like to start out this month by welcoming back all our “Snowbirds” at the Put-in-Bay Senior Center. You’ve been greatly missed and we’re glad you’re back. Our winter has been very cold and seemed to last FOREVER! Let’s just say we’re all thrilled beyond words to have our ferries up and running!!!!
We’ve added two new programs to our April calendar. First, there’s a Creative Scrapbooking Class every Tuesday at 1 p.m. This will be a perfect opportunity for you to gather up your old photos that have been stuffed away in a box somewhere and create your very own special scrapbook full of memories. Just think how much fun we can have!!!!! Our second exciting new program added to the senior center schedule will be Computer Classes for Seniors. Classes will be offered by Mrs. Cerny and the Put-in-Bay Computer Club on Wednesdays, the 6th, 13th, and 27th at 3:30 p.m. in the school’s computer room. Apparently, we need to “get up to speed” with today’s computer technology. And yes, “You can teach an old dog new tricks!!!” We will learn a number of computer skills from basics like Microsoft Word and email to uploading pictures, Skype and Photoshop. Space is limited, so you will need to RSVP.
This year’s Spring Clean Up for St. Paul’s Church will be held on Saturday, April 9th. Everyone, young and old, are encouraged to come out, take in some fresh air and pitch in. The Put-in-Bay PTA has organized a hot dog lunch to be held at the Senior Center
for all the Put-in-Bay students on Tuesday, April 12th. Grandparents and parents are welcome to join us. The American Legion Post 542 will hold their monthly meeting and lunch at the Senior Center on Thursday, April 21st. All Vets are welcome to attend.
The Annual Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for Saturday, April 23rd at Perry’s Cave. Festivities will begin at 11 a.m. with a visit from the Easter Bunny himself! And just like last year, our Senior Center will be in charge of filling over 4000 eggs for this eggs-citing
event. Games, refreshments, and fun for everyone! Ottawa County Health Department will be at the Senior Center on Thursday, April 28th for our monthly 60+ Health Clinic. Please call Candace at the center if you need to schedule an appointment. And finally, on Friday the 29th, Gina and her team of Physical Therapists from CGA Therapies will be at the senior center for an informative presentation on Fall Prevention. They will be discussing a number of very important issues and be offering helpful tips along with answering any questions you might have. Please plan to attend. Wishing you and yours peace, love, and a very Happy Easter.
