The sixth annual Put-in-Bay Chocolate Fest was held at the Lake Erie Islands Library on Saturday, February 4, 2017. There was a
record-breaking twenty-two entries. At least eighty Put-in-Bay Island residents enjoyed tasting the delicious items! We are pleased to announce that Put-in-Bay resident Heidi Ladd was the first-place Put-in-Bay Chocolate Fest champion with her sweet-tasting Cookie Butter Truffles.
Second place went to Mark Wilhelm for his delectable entry of Peppermint Patties. The third-place winner was Keri Carnicom with her delicious German Chocolate Dump Cake. Due to the number of entries, a fourth place was handed out to Lizzy and Allen Many for their Volcano Chocolate Cookies and Snowballs. Honorable Mention goes to Michelle O’Donnell, Susan Amrine, Don Ruggiero, Susan Cooks, Lily Thompson, Mary Kate Polsten, Amanda Solkiewicz, Roberta Scarpelli, Mary Lou Ramsbottom, Linda Rence, Lilian Frederick, Jesse Greene, Suzanne, and Lukas Kostura and Sue Duff for their delectable dishes.
Many Put-in-Bay Chocolate Fest recipes were ideas gathered on Pinterest.com and handed down through families. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who took the time to prepare a tasty treat and those who stopped by to vote for the Chocolate Fest champions! Put-in-Bay’s Library looks forward to hosting this event again next year.
